Description

Tender, caramelized roasted cabbage steaks topped with crispy, flavorful bacon – a quick and easy side dish that’s sure to impress.

Ingredients

1 medium green cabbage, cut into 1-inch thick slices

6 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Arrange the cabbage slices on a large baking sheet, making sure they are in a single layer.

3. Drizzle the olive oil over the cabbage slices and use your hands to evenly coat them.

4. Sprinkle the salt and pepper over the cabbage.

5. Scatter the bacon pieces over the top of the cabbage slices.

6. Roast the cabbage steaks in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the bacon is crispy.

7. Serve the Roasted Cabbage Steaks with Bacon immediately, while hot and fresh.

Notes

For a more caramelized flavor, you can broil the cabbage steaks for 2-3 minutes after roasting. Be sure to keep a close eye on them to prevent burning. This dish also pairs well with a drizzle of balsamic glaze or a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
