Description

Indulge in the unexpected delight of Grilled Cheese Pound Cake – a unique fusion of savory and sweet that will tantalize your taste buds. This irresistible treat combines the comforting flavors of grilled cheese with the rich, buttery goodness of classic pound cake, creating a truly memorable dessert.

Ingredients

– 8 slices white bread

– 8 slices cheddar cheese

– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

– 3 large eggs

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

1. Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat.

2. Construct the grilled cheese sandwiches by placing a slice of cheese between two slices of bread. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter on the griddle and cook the sandwiches until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt until well combined.

4. Tear the grilled cheese sandwiches into bite-sized pieces and add them to the egg mixture, gently folding to coat.

5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.

6. Fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

7. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter on the griddle or in a skillet over medium heat.

8. Scoop the batter onto the hot surface, using about 1/4 cup of batter per cake. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

9. Serve the Grilled Cheese Pound Cakes warm, dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with honey if desired.

Notes

For a more decadent twist, try using different cheese varieties, such as provolone or Swiss. You can also experiment with adding herbs or spices to the batter for added flavor. The Grilled Cheese Pound Cakes can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
